Appointing an Accountant for the first time

If you are considering appointing an accountant for the first time it can be a very daunting experience. You are going to need to place an enormous amount of trust in a person or firm that you’ve never met before. With many accountants you will feel that you are being talked at rather than talked to. Our service includes the following approach: –

Hiring an accountant for contractors
  • We will arrange an initial meeting for you with one of our partners
  • We will listen carefully to what you have to say
  • If we feel, because of the nature of your requirements that you would be best served by another accountant, we will tell you so.
  • We will not assume that you have detailed knowledge of tax or accountancy and we will explain clearly and concisely what you need to do.
  • At the end of the meeting we will ask you if you have any questions or concerns and will do our best to address them.
  • Your meeting is entirely without obligation.
In the weeks, months, and year following an initial meeting, you will always be able to communicate with a partner by telephone, email, post or meeting to suit you when you feel you need to.
  • We will recommend sensible tax planning tailored to your needs but will never put forward artificial tax avoidance schemes.
  • We will never assume that you wish to hide income from HMRC or illegally avoid any legitimate tax liability.
  • We will discuss openly and frankly our fee structure.
  • In the unlikely event that your affairs are enquired into by HMRC, our work in resolving the enquiry is almost always provided without charge (terms and conditions apply).

Changing your Accountant

If you are presently using an accountant and are considering changing, our service includes the following approach: –

changing your accountant
  • We will arrange an initial meeting for you with one of our partners.
  • We will listen to you to establish why you are unhappy with your present arrangement.
  • If we feel that we are unable to address your concerns for any reason, we will tell you so.
  • If we believe we can help we will set out in a clear and concise way, how we intend to do that.
  • The meeting will be an open two-way exchange and we will try to deal with all of your concerns. If we do not know the answer to a question you raise, we will tell you so and we will come back to you later.
  • In the weeks, months, and years following, an initial meeting you will always be able to communicate with a partner by telephone, email, post or meeting to suit you when you feel you need to.
